Cycle of Pain

Today marks one year since the October 7th attacks by Hamas, and the beginning of Israel’s destruction of Gaza. The cycle of pain has turned into a hurricane. I don’t have the right words, so instead I’m sharing some messages from friends¹ that I’ve recieved in the last few days: friends from Lebanon, Gaza, and Syrian friends living in Lebanon. The video below is the family house of 2 of my very best friends in Lebanon. The house backed onto a school, where my friends parents worked. It’s all gone. There is so much pain.

I’m proud of everyone I know who is going through this though, because you have so much humanity. The biggest bravest hearts. You are stronger than you realise.

I sensitively asked each friend if they minded me sharing these personal messages anonymously. All of them urged me to share, and stressed they want more people to know and understand what they are going through. ↩︎
