It’s been such a difficult couple of weeks in Lebanon. I am constantly in touch with friends, as everybody scrambles to check on each other after each development. Words from my friends stick in my mind.
“We don’t know if anyone is going to give Lebanon the same kind of protection that a Western country would get”
“Ifff they Bombed here, [there will be] no safety, no barriers, no one will defend us anymore. Like Gaza will happen…. Even if we have our passports, it’s useless for people like us”
“Sometimes I feel this becomes normal in my life here.
Always scared or feel unsafe
But still nothing we can do with that”
“In your country if you work hard you go forward. Maybe at the worst you stay in the same place. But in our country we work so hard and then we lose everything. Again and again”
