Graffiti and signs from the streets of Beirut this week, and a few articulate voices whose words I wanted to save.
It’s been a nightmarish couple of weeks for everyone in Lebanon. The loss of life and the terror is incomprehensible. My thoughts and prayers are with all those dealing with the grief, the terror, the collective trauma, the uncertainty and emotional pain. And all those trying their best each day, at the hardest of times, to keep going, to be strong for their loved ones, to find ways to help their neighbours. So many people are pulling together to support everyone who’s been forced to flee their homes. I wish the world could see your courage. ♥️
I’m also thinking of all the people who are connected to Lebanon and having to watch this unfold from afar: the helplessness and the guilt are their own kind of agony.
